Why Hospitals Choose Hingmed ABPM Device?

Blood pressure fluctuates throughout the day. A single clinic reading may miss elevated BP episodes that occur at specific times.
A 24-hour ambulatory monitoring device captures BP variations across wake and sleep, providing a complete profile for accurate hypertension diagnosis.
Hingmed ABPM features a compact, integrated design for comfortable all-day wear. Simply press and hold the middle button for 5 seconds to power on/off.

Trusted Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitor Supplier

“Differentiating true hypertension from transient elevation is critical. Hingmed ABPM provides more reliable 24-hour data for accurate diagnosis.”

Anna Schmidt – Germany Clinical Director

“Remote hypertension management suffers from delayed or missing data. Hingmed enables real-time BP tracking via remote transmission.”

Hassan Al-Mansouri – USA Telemedicine Consultant

“We study circadian BP patterns, but some devices lose nighttime data. Hingmed WBP-02A provides complete 24-hour profiles.”

Sarah Williams – UK Hypertension Researcher

What is ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM)?
Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM) is a non-invasive method that provides comprehensive diagnostic information on blood pressure variations throughout the day and night over a 24-hour period.

ABPM parameters include systolic pressure (SBP), diastolic pressure (DBP), pulse rate (PR), mean arterial pressure (MAP), overnight changes in blood pressure, white-coat analysis, blood pressure load (BP Load), blood pressure coefficient of variation (CV), ambulatory arterial stiffness index (AASI), and morning surge (MS), among others.

ABPM is considered the most cost-effective strategy for clinicians in the diagnosis of hypertension.
How does a 24-hour ambulatory BP monitor work?
Step 1: Cuff inflation
The cuff encircles the upper arm and inflates automatically according to preset times (during the day: every 15-30 minutes; at night: every 30-60 minutes).
Step 2: Oscillometric measurement
The device measures the changes in pressure caused by the pulsations of the artery walls. A computer program is used inside to determine systolic and diastolic pressure from these signals.
Step 3: Motion filtering
Motion Tolerance Technology can constantly remove artefacts caused by motion, providing accurate readings even when the patient is walking or moving.
Step 4: Data storage
A time-stamp is added to each reading and it is permanently recorded in internal memory (300 entries).
Step 5: Analysis
Following 24 hours the data is downloaded to PC software for circadian pattern analysis such as morning surge, AASI and blood pressure variability.
Can Hingmed ABPM data be transmitted remotely via Wi-Fi or 4G?
Yes. Hingmed ABPM devices are available with a number of data transfer modes such as Bluetooth, USB, Wi-Fi, and 4G (in some models) and can be used for efficient remote data transfer for clinical and telemedicine applications.
What is pulse wave analysis in ABPM?
Pulse wave analysis is a measurement of the morphology and features of the arterial pulse waveform obtained when taking blood pressure. It assists in measurement quality control, interference detection and offers extra physiological information to enhance diagnostic accuracy.
What is ABPM vs HBPM?
ABPM (Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring) is an automatic method of measuring blood pressure over a 24-hour period as the person sleeps and goes about their day. HBPM (Home Blood Pressure Monitoring) is the ability to measure blood pressure at certain times at home, and provides less comprehensive diagnosis information.
What is a good ambulatory blood pressure?
Here are normal values for ambulatory blood pressure monitoring as following:
  • 24-hour mean BP: 125/75 mmHg or less
  • Daytime BP: 130/80 mmHg or less
  • Nighttime BP: 110/65 mmHg or less
  • Nocturnal dipping: 10% to 20%
These values align with guidelines from major health organizations, including the American Heart Association (AHA) and the European Society of Hypertension (ESH). Discuss the results with your medical practitioner and do the following treatment plan.
Are ambulatory blood pressure monitors accurate?
Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM) is a 24-hour measurement of blood pressure that allows for a detailed assessment of how blood pressure varies during the day and night and other activities. It allows for the identification of white coat hypertension, masked hypertension and abnormal nighttime blood pressure patterns not detected by office blood pressure.

ABPM allows healthcare providers to assess blood pressure over time 24 hours/day, which helps in making better treatment decisions, fine-tuning medication regimens, and assessing long-term blood pressure management, resulting in more accurate diagnoses and better patient outcomes.
Who might need to use a 24-hour ambulatory monitor?
A 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitor (ABPM) may be recommended for people with suspected hypertension, white coat hypertension, or masked hypertension.

It is also useful for patients who need treatment evaluation, those with uncontrolled blood pressure, individuals at increased cardiovascular risk, and pregnant women with hypertension-related concerns.
How do you prepare for wearing ABPM?
Loose comfortable clothing that allows easy access to the upper arm is recommended before wearing a 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitor (ABPM). It is recommended to shower before using, and this device should not be taken off for the duration of the monitoring. Patients should not stop taking medications they have been prescribed until the doctor says it is OK.

While monitoring, normal daily activities may be carried out (but strenuous exercise, excessive caffeine, alcohol and smoking are not recommended as they may impact the readings). The arm must remain STABLE and RELAXED when the cuff is inflated. A simple activity, sleep and symptom diary may be also requested to assist clinical interpretation of the results.
